Hambleton Hall is a classic special-occasion Gourmet Getaway: small, service-led, overlooking Rutland Water and anchored by a Michelin-starred restaurant. It does not rely on a spa or extensive resort facilities; the food, lake setting and hospitality are the experience.

Hambleton Hall's Dining Room is a Michelin-starred destination restaurant led by chef Aaron Patterson. The cooking is seasonal modern British, using excellent ingredients — local where possible — with menus adjusted frequently according to what suppliers can provide at their best.
The restaurant offers a daily-changing Menu of the Day, a Michelin-starred lunch proposition and Sunday lunch. Patterson's vegetable dishes are treated with the same seriousness as meat and fish; long-standing examples include cauliflower cheese with spiced lentils and cauliflower beignets and a delicate beetroot terrine.
The Dining Room is open every day for lunch and dinner and is on site. The service level is formal enough for a special occasion but the emphasis remains on ingredient-led cooking rather than unnecessary ceremony.
With 17 rooms, Hambleton Hall remains intimate enough for the stay to feel personal. Rooms lean into traditional country-house luxury and the best views make Rutland Water part of the experience rather than simply a nearby attraction.
There is no conventional spa, although the hotel has an outdoor pool. Time here is better spent around the gardens, terrace, Rutland Water and the surrounding countryside, making it especially strong in warmer months.
The hotel's setting in Hambleton makes it a natural base for the surrounding area as well as a place to stay for dinner. For a two-night break, allow time outside the dining room rather than treating the property as a one-evening stop.
