This is a country-estate resort rather than simply a smart hotel outside London. The scale is the point: a restored Georgian manor, 500 acres, an equestrian centre, extensive spa facilities and enough family and outdoor activity to make two nights feel justified.

Wild Carrot is the main restaurant at Four Seasons Hampshire and the natural choice for a Gourmet Getaway dinner. Executive Chef Talha Barkin leads a seasonal British menu built around locally sourced ingredients and countryside flavours. The style is polished but intentionally relaxed rather than stiff fine dining.
Representative dishes include spiced duck breast with caramelised parsnip, apricot purée and port jus, line-caught sea bass with mussels, girolles and vermouth sauce, and Cornish crab with crème fraîche, elderflower and lovage. Dinner is served daily from 5.30pm to 9pm; lunch is served Monday-Saturday 12pm-2.30pm and Sunday 12.30pm-2.30pm.
The restaurant is on site, so there is no transfer to plan. Expect a smart luxury-hotel dining room, but one designed to feel comfortable rather than ceremonial.
Four Seasons' own hotel facts list 134 accommodations: 112 guest rooms and 22 suites. Rooms and suites mix country-house detailing with modern Four Seasons comforts; larger Park, William Godson and Royal suites suit families or special occasions that need more living space.
The spa is a substantial part of the proposition, with an indoor pool, outdoor vitality pool, treatments, fitness facilities and relaxation space. Horse riding, tennis, cycling, archery, clay shooting and falconry add unusual depth for a UK hotel break.
The hotel's setting in Hook makes it a natural base for the surrounding area as well as a place to stay for dinner. For a two-night break, allow time outside the dining room rather than treating the property as a one-evening stop.
Indicative build-your-own Gourmet Getaway: the indicative price shown in the price panel combines our current accommodation-and-breakfast benchmark with the selected restaurant's dining cost for two. It is designed for comparison and research and is not an official hotel package price. Because accommodation and menu prices can change, use the live price panel as the current indicative figure.
Official packages: no current food-led package with a sufficiently clear public price has been promoted into this page. Use the direct hotel link for current bookable offers.

Guest feedback is strongest around the estate, atmosphere, setting and service. The hotel also scores well for couples, families, spa and pools. A recurring practical point is that the property is very family-oriented, which is a strength for family stays but worth knowing for couples seeking complete quiet.
Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire works best when the hotel, restaurant and setting are treated as one trip rather than three separate bookings. Choose the room and dinner first, then use the surrounding time to make the break feel like a proper retreat.
