Best Spa Hotels with Outstanding Restaurants in the UK

There is a particular pleasure in having nowhere to drive after dinner. Add a good spa and a comfortable room, and the itinerary almost writes itself. These four hotels give equal weight to the table and the time around it, though each has a different idea of what a spa break should feel like. Compare more spa hotels with dinner and overnight stays across the UK.

At a glance: choose Boringdon Hall for serious fine dining; The Headland for Cornish sea air; Homewood for an informal Bath-area escape; or Gleneagles for an expansive Scottish estate.

What qualified for this guide

Each selection pairs an on-site restaurant with a hotel spa and overnight accommodation. We favoured places where the dining has a clear identity of its own, rather than a hotel that happens to serve dinner. The venue profiles come from the Gourmet Getaways catalogue; the hotel links below document the spa, restaurant or relevant stay offer. A room rate, spa treatment and dinner may be sold separately, so check the exact inclusions before booking.

1. Boringdon Hall and Àclèaf, Devon

Boringdon Hall Hotel and Gaia Spa in Devon

Boringdon Hall makes a strong case when dinner is the main event. Àclèaf is the hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant, while Gaia Spa offers a more leisurely counterpoint to the evening. There is also the Mayflower Brasserie if your second night calls for something less formal. It is a useful choice for a two-night trip: one evening built around a destination restaurant and another with room to relax.

The hotel describes Àclèaf and Gaia Spa together and publishes an Àclèaf dining package. Check spa access and restaurant availability for the rate you choose. See Boringdon Hall and Àclèaf.

2. The Headland and RenMor, Cornwall

The Headland hotel beside Fistral Beach

At The Headland, the Atlantic does much of the work. Swim or book a treatment, walk by Fistral Beach, then settle into RenMor for dinner. The hotel also offers Ugly Butterfly by Adam Handling for a more elaborate meal; decide which restaurant matters most before picking a package, because the dining credit and inclusions differ.

The hotel’s spa breaks page describes treatments and RenMor dinner credits, and its dining page lists the current restaurants. See The Headland and RenMor.

3. Homewood and Olio, Somerset

Outdoor dining at Homewood near Bath

Homewood is more playful than solemn: individual rooms, Somerset countryside and Olio’s relaxed approach to seasonal dining. It works particularly well if you want to spend some of the break in Bath without sleeping in the city. The spa is part of the overnight experience, while particular treatments and dinner allowances depend on the offer.

Homewood says spa access is included for overnight guests; its Gatineau spa break gives an example of an offer with an Olio dinner allowance. See Homewood and Olio.

4. Gleneagles and Restaurant Andrew Fairlie, Perthshire

Gleneagles hotel and estate in Scotland

For a long weekend with more than one possible pace, Gleneagles is hard to ignore. The spa has its own dedicated wellness programme, while dinner can mean the polished theatre of The Strathearn or the two-Michelin-star Restaurant Andrew Fairlie. It is a large resort rather than an intimate retreat, which is a strength if different people in the party want different days.

Consult the hotel’s spa overview and restaurant guide. Reserve Andrew Fairlie well ahead and check whether your chosen room rate includes any dinner element. See Gleneagles and Restaurant Andrew Fairlie.

How to book the right spa and dining break

A luxury dinner, bed and breakfast break is only as good as its actual inclusions. Ask whether spa access is included for residents, whether treatments require separate booking, which restaurant the dinner credit covers, and whether breakfast is part of the room rate. Reserve the table and treatment slots before planning the rest of the weekend.

Editorial check: 28 September 2026. The selection draws on the Gourmet Getaways hotel, restaurant and spa records, with links to the hotels’ own pages. Awards, menus and package terms may change.
